The Association DNS.PT, the Portuguese Registry responsible for running the .PT country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD), recently announced a new record for .PT domain name registrations that outstripped parallel European domain name growth threefold. .STORAGE to be relaunched The XYZ.com Registry announced earlier this month that it had acquired .STORAGE, its tenth new generic Top Level Domain (gTLD). XYZ.com already operates .XYZ, the largest new gTLD with just under 6 million registered domain names (which represents 22% of all registered new gTLDs), and eight others which it acquired afterwards:
The China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently awarded licenses to a number of legacy and new generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) allowing them to be sold and operated within China. This is in line with a continuing trend towards greater openness to the domain name world on the part of China.
